about Vineyard Hacienda

Vineyard Hacienda - an exquisite hideaway

The grand Vineyard Hacienda-style estate was carefully constructed in the 1930s in true old-style Spanish tradition – adobe, red Spanish tile, and high-quality authentic hardwood.

Owner Joseph Harmes III, his late Mother and Grand Father worked together in the 1990s to create the lush and beautifully landscaped grounds of Vineyard Hacienda that are the perfect complement to the grand and authentic hacienda-style residence. Gladys and Joseph took on the property to make it a small slice of paradise to share with the world by opening it to the public as a rental space for short to long term tenants starting in the year 2000. Some guests stayed 6 months due to work lodging, some stayed for years and became extended family. Vineyard Hacienda started in 2014 as a nightly lodging, and event venue, to provide their guests with a unique and unforgettable experience in an oasis-like setting. We love sharing our small slice of paradise with the world.

From health and wellness retreats/festivals where people tune in with ideal self and source, to a wedding/event venue where people have life long memories created at the property. We are blessed to be the care takers of a space that resonates to create so much magic.

Vineyard Hacienda, an exquisite hideaway created in the Spanish hacienda tradition, possesses an extensive variety of locations, both indoor and outdoor, to meet the needs of even the most discriminating guest.

Options include weddings, yoga and wellness retreats, holiday parties, special celebrations, corporate off-sites, Quinciñeras, and overnight stays in our tastefully appointed guest rooms.

Our nine-acre property is situated in a private and serene location free from outside interruptions, yet conveniently located less than 18 minutes from downtown San Diego and its myriad attractions, including Balboa Park (home to 95% of local museums), SD Zoo, Petco Park, the Gaslamp nightlife district, and only a little farther to Old Town, Little Italy, the historic Hotel Del Coronado, the beach, Fashion Valley Shopping Mall, and Sea World.

We are less than 25 miles to the Mexican/Baja border at Tecate and 1/4 mile to a local micro-brew pub with extensive choices of local and other beers on tap. Within 7 miles are three golf courses: Cottonwood, Singing Hills, and Steele Canyon.

Come join us and create your magic at our small slice of paradise that can be all yours for your occasion.
